Tudor Puiu, M.D.

Dr. Tudor Puiu emigrated from his home country of Romania to Michigan at the age of ten. He completed his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biological Sciences with an Honors Co-Major from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, on a full-tuition Presidential Scholarship, graduating Summa Cum Laude.

 Dr. Puiu went on to obtain his medical degree (M.D.) at the University of Michigan Medical School as a Roberts Family Scholarship recipient, receiving multiple awards throughout his training, including induction into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society, as well as receiving the Academic Recognition Award given to the top 5 graduating students of the medical school class.

 Dr. Puiu completed his internship and dermatology training at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL, where he was a Chief Resident and served in multiple leadership roles, including on the Mayo Clinic Graduate Medical Education Committee, and on the Mayo Clinic Fellows Association. Among his academic achievements during his training, Dr. Puiu was recognized as being in the 99^th percentile in patient satisfaction amongst dermatology providers across all Mayo Clinic enterprise sites.

Dr. Puiu’s interests include general medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. He has expertise in common dermatological conditions, such as the diagnosis and management of skin cancers, acne, rosacea, eczema, and psoriasis, as well as rare and complex dermatological conditions. Dr. Puiu prides himself on providing patient-centered care and prioritizing the needs of the patient.

Outside of work, Dr. Puiu is an avid soccer player. He enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, walking along many of Jacksonville’s nature preserves and beaches, and fishing.
